The 26th Zegama-Aizkorri will be held on 6 June and pre-registration will open on 11 January for the marathon and 25 January for the KV and Junior Trail.

The Zegama-Aizkorri is taking shape on the horizon. The dates for the 26th edition of what is considered the most iconic mountain marathon are now set. On June 6, 2027, hundreds of spectators will once again carry the runners on a wave of passion through world-renowned spots like Sancti-Spiritu. A qualifying race for the Golden Trail World Series, the event will once again have 225 bibs available through a public lottery.

Pre-registration to vie for the coveted marathon bibs will open on January 11 at 12:00 noon via the Kronoak.com registration platform. For eleven days, from January 11 to January 22, anyone wishing to enter can pre-register for a chance to secure a marathon bib; from this pool, spots will be allocated via the draw, by qualifying times, and direct entries reserved for local residents or those who have completed every previous edition. Meanwhile, pre-registration for the 13th edition of the Vertical Kilometre and the 16th edition of the Junior Trail (ages 16–18) will run from January 25 to February 5. The bib draw for all three races will be held on February 12.

On June 6, 2027, the mountain running world will find out who takes over from the winners of the latest edition: Swedish athlete Tove Alexandersson, who shattered the course record in her debut appearance in Zegama with a spectacular time of 4h08:09 (joined on the podium by Malen Osa and Sara Alonso), and Moroccan runner Elhousine Elazzaoui(3h45:07), who made history by defending his title and becoming the first male runner after Kilian Jornet to repeat a victory in Zegama's town square.
